Financial Services

Business & Tax Advisory Services

My years of serving high-income, high-net worth clients with meeting tax compliance and value-added consulting services along the way has been invaluable.

The decades of personal entrepreneurial experience, as evidenced by my Chartered Global Management Accountant, qualifies me to render sound, common-sense, general business advice and tax advice and counsel. I’ve “been there” and I’ve “done that” personally; my advice is grounded on experience, not from merely reading about it from articles or text books.

Tax Controversy, Taxpayer Advocacy Services

My past experience as my client's most loyal advocate before the Internal Revenue Service and state tax matters included the list below and has provided unparelled expertise to evaluate and forensically analyze the veracity of income tax returns.

  1. Correspondence notices, and correspondence audit -all inquiries
  2. CP 2000 (income matching) notices
  3. Collection, Collection Due Process hearings
  4. Installment Payment Plans
  5. Offer-in-Compromise
  6. Audits
  7. Appeals

Unlike most of the national income tax client advocacy firms, I have always been forthright with my assessment of my client's situations and realistic with their remedies.

Business Valuations

Business succession is a process that requires a historical awareness with forward thought and thorough preparation.

I am completely aware of family business succession and its unique idiosyncrasies.

My decades of experience coupled with my advanced credentials (ABV- Accredited in Business Valuation, CFF- Certified in Finanical Forensics, MAFF- Master Analyst in Financial Forensics) allow me to "scrub" financial data as I bundle my decades of strong tax experience to consult about and get your valuation "right".

Forensic Accounting & Litigation Support

Forensic accounting is the service whereby objective forensic accountants analyze, interpret, summarize complex financial and business related issues and present opinions in an understandable and properly supported manner for the purpose of assisting the judicial system in resolving legal matters.

The two typical engagements are financial investigations or litigation support.

Litigation support could be as a consulting expert, a testifying expert, and it could begin as a consulting expert and progress to a testifying expert.

The litigation support (consulting and expert witness testimony) services I provide to attorneys, their firms and  clients in the following areas: -Bankruptcy, Insolvency and Reorganization -

  1. Economic Damages Calculations.
  2. Shareholder oppression.
  3. Family Law - Divorces, investigations of in-kind compensation and evaluation of the verasity of financial statement presentaio and income tax return reporting.
  4. Mediation team member consultations.
  5. Financial Statement Misrepresentations.
  6. Internal control policies and procedures.
  7. Assistance with preparation of questions for interrogatories and depositions, evaluation and interpretation of interrogatories and depositions responses.
  8. Valuation consultation of closely held family businesses. The American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) established the Certified in Financial Forensics (CFF) credential in 2008 for CPAs who specialize in forensic accounting. The CFF credential is granted exclusively to CPAs who successfully complete a 4 hour examination and who demonstrates considerable expertise in forensic accounting through their knowledge, skills, and experience. I earned my Certified in Financial Forensics credential in 2012.
